PUBLIC COMMENT POLICY

Each individual is allotted a maximum of five minutes for public comments, and eligibility to make such comments is restricted to residents and taxpayers of the Borough of Pottstown.  In order to verify eligibility requirements, the Borough reserves the right to request additional information regarding resident/taxpayer status at any time both before and after comments are made.  If it is determined that an individual does not satisfy eligibility requirements, that individual will be precluded from providing public comments at future meetings. 

Those participating virtually wishing to speak during public comment, whether participating by electronic device or telephone, must submit their name and full residential or business address through GoToMeeting chat or email at administration@pottstown.org. Requests to speak virtually will be accepted until 7:05pm, at which time chat will be closed, and no further requests for comment will be honored.

Those attending in person wishing to speak must provide their name and full residential or business address at the sign-in sheet located at the front of the meeting room prior to the start of the public comment agenda item.

Motion to adopt the advertised ordinance which will amend the Articles of Incorporation of the Pottstown Borough Authority

Motion to approve and authorize the execution of the Second Supplemental Management Agreement between the Borough of Pottstown and the Pottstown Borough Authority

Motion to authorize the Solicitor to prepare and advertise a draft a zoning ordinance amendment which adopt general criteria for special exceptions, amend the definitions and regulations for group homes, and create a definition and regulations for licensed and unlicensed sober living homes

Possible action on zoning relief request of Grocery Outlet Inc for the property located at 799 State Street which seeks variances related to maximum number and sign area of proposed signage

Motion to grant Pottstown Center LP a waiver from Section 1007 of Part 10, Donation Bins, of Chapter 13, Licenses, Permits, and General Business Regulations, of the Borough’s Code of Ordinances to allow for the placement of a second donation bin at the property located at 233 Shoemaker Road for the collection of used clothing and shoes

Motion to grant the request of Pottstown GoFourth, Inc., to hold its GoFourth Street Fest, resulting in the closing of High Street from York Street to Charlotte Street on July 4, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., subject to review and approval of the Police and Fire Departments

Motion to grant the request of Pottstown GoFourth, Inc, to allow the operation of a Biergarten in Smith Family Plaza on July 4, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and in Memorial Park from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., subject to review and approval of the Federal Transit Administration and compliance with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board regulations
