The Pottstown Borough Authority

The Borough Authority owns and maintains over 115 miles of distribution pipe ranging in size from 4 inches to 24 inches. The distribution system also includes five pumping stations, one reservoir, and four storage tanks. The distribution system supplies water to the Borough of Pottstown as well as the following townships; West Pottsgrove, Upper Pottsgrove, Lower Pottstgove, and bulk water is sold to Douglass Township.

Quality of Water

The Borough Authority is committed to providing our customers with the highest quality of water. The Water Treatment Plant constantly monitors your drinking water for quality according to federal and state laws. We are pleased to provide you with our Consumer Confidence Report, which contains valuable information about your drinking water. This report summarizes the water quality provided to you.

We are pleased to report that our water had no violations and meets or exceeds all federal and state requirements.

Hydrant Flushing

Daytime hydrant flushing of the Public Water System occurs in the spring and fall and is expected to last 5 weeks. Flushing will be done between the hours of 8:00am and 3:30pm. If water appears brown or rust colored, run the cold water for a few minutes until it is clear. Please contact Public Works at 610-970-6527 with any questions.
