The Special Needs Registry is designed to help emergency
management coordinators plan for critical events. Each

The Bark Park Update!
Dear Residents,
Tentative dates for the construction of the Bark Park at Memorial Park have been
set for the weekend of March 28 and 29, 2009 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The folks at Home Depot are making plans to provide assistance with the project
through their community projects program. The community is also invited to assist
with the project. A liability and indemnification waiver will be required to
be signed for all whom plan to assist with the project.
The Bark Park was the project of the 2008 TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce
Leadership Class that included Pam McGinly, Terri Lampe, Jamie Ottaviano, Janet
Flack and supervised by Eileen Dautrich.
The Park was also made possible through
the financial assistance of Exelon Generating Station, PECO and National Penn
Bank.

Did you know that Pottstown has local community television available
for the local area? PCTV (Pottstown Community TV) is owned and operated
by the Borough of Pottstown and provides local origination programming over Comcast
Cable TV in over 75,000 homes in western Montgomery County, Northern Chester
County and Eastern Berks County. In existence since 1983, PCTV currently produces
programming on 3 local Cable Channels 22, 28 and 98).

WHAT DO I DO WITH MY CHRISTMAS TREE? Once the holidays
are over, simply place your tree out with your trash and it will be hauled away
by J.P. Mascaro.

New Recyling and Trash Collection
The Borough of Pottstown has awarded a three-year contact to
J.P. Mascaro to collect all recycling material, trash, and yard material. The
new contract will start on January 1, 2009. The new contract will require changes
to the methods used for recycling and trash. Residents are reminded to place
all recycling, trash, and yard material by the curb or alley the night before
the scheduled collection day.

Snow and Ice Emergency
The Borough would like to remind our residents about the snow
and ice emergency ordinance.

PARKING REGULATIONS UPDATE
The Borough has updated the parking regulations to include the
following:
- No blocking or saving parking spaces
- No parking vehicles on blocks
or ramps

7th Annual New Year’s Day Celebration and
Bonfire at Riverfront Park
January 1, 2009
Help us
to ring in the New Year by joining us for a Bonfire at Riverfront Park. Take
a winter stroll and enjoy the vista as we gather along the banks of the Schuylkill
River in scenic Riverfront Park. This annual get together is growing in popularity
and has fast become an annual holiday tradition in Pottstown. MORE

The Pennsylvania Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
The Pennsylvania Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps low
income people pay their heating bills through home heating energy assistance
grants and crisis grants. You need not have an unpaid bill to receive home heating
energy assistance. You can receive this money without being in the Cash Assistance
program -- a family of four with an annual income of up to $44,443 can qualify
for assistance. No lien is placed on your property if you receive this help.

The Fountain of Youth Spraypark is closed for the winter. Located
at the Manatawny entrance to Memorial Park, the spraypark the spring open notification
will be posted on this website.

The Schuylkill Trail was developed as a multi-use
public trail for walkers, joggers, bicyclists, cross-country skiers, and equestrians.
You can view the River Trail Map from Birdsboro to Pottstown and from Reading
to Gibraltar by clicking here.
