The Pottstown Public Library has many programs for
kids, teens and adults.
What does the Library offer adults? Lots!!! Free online
access via our computers or your own [Wifi] laptop, weekly Tai Chi instruction
[mostly Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.], Mystery Reader’s Club
on the 4th Tuesday of month at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday Evening Book Club the last
Tuesday of month at 7:00 p.m., Craft Clubs the 1st & 3rd Thursdays at 1:00
p.m. and the 2nd Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., and special programs on varied themes
supplement the more traditional hardback and paperback books, large type books,
magazines, newspaper, digital downloadable books and other online information
resources.
There is still time for anyone to contribute who wants to
help the Library qualify for new public access Internet computers on the Gates
Foundation Grant. Computer use continues to grow as our computers age. We are
hoping to add weekly computer instruction to our fall schedule. Check the webpage for developments in September and October. Details should be available shortly
on our Wine Tasting [Fall Fund-raiser.]
The next Friends of the Library Back-Door Book Sale will be held downstairs
in the Library on Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20. FOL members normally
hold a two-day sale every other month. These dedicated volunteers help the Library
with the proceeds of these sales and other activities. New members are always
welcome!
We hope each member of your family has his or her library card close at hand
for use. You must accompany your minor child [yes, even the teens] at least once
to provide proof of identity and residence and sign to approve his/her application.
Keep checking our web-page for library activities, access to information,
including digital downloadable audio books, and oh yes, to reserve those books
you want to curl up and read as the leaves start to fall!

Interim Director, Pottstown Public Library
