The
Borough of Pottstown has four volunteer fire companies
with each station having career firefighters for faster
response to emergencies. Each station is responsible
for its own operation and maintenance. The Borough gives
each station a yearly contribution for operational expenses.
The four companies are under the operational command
of the Borough Fire Chief / Fire Marshal.
You can reach the Fire Chief/Marshal
by calling: 610-970-6525
Many residents are not aware that
certain work must be inspected by the Fire Marshall
upon completion, you will need to fill out the Fire
Marshall Application (PDF). For much of this work you
will need a permit as required by the Borough.
The Fire Department has release a new Fire Services Study. MORE

Pottstown's Fire Company's have an
active Fire Police unit to assist on the scene of
fires, accidents, and other incidents. Fire Police,
as a specialized unit, are somewhat unique. Special
Fire Police units exist in only a few states in the
U.S. (CT, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, WV) and in only
a few other countries in the world (i.e. New Zealand
and Japan).
This group is an important piece of
our overall safety in Pottstown. To learn more about
