The
Finance Department provides all of the Accounting and
Budget work necessary to maintain the operations of
the Borough of Pottstown. The Department performs the
billing and collection for the Water, Sewer, and Trash
utility operations. The Water and Sewer operations are
owned by the Pottstown Borough Authority, and managed
under a long-term management contract by the Borough.
The Borough operates the Trash and Recycling programs
as part of the normal Borough operations.
The Finance Department develops the
annual budget (view 2008 adopted budget) for the Borough, with the exception
of the Water and Sewer billing rates, which are established
by the Borough Authority on an annual basis. The Department
is actively involved in the Cash Management function
for the Borough, and the Authority, and utilizes appropriate
vehicles for investing the Borough’s cash, to
maximize interest/investment earnings for the Borough.
