The department of Economic Development is responsible for improving the overall re-development of the Pottstown area.

There are many ongoing and planned development projects for businesses. In addition there are a number of programs offering financial incentives.

The Borough of Pottstown has a seven year Economic Development Strategic Plan.  The plan provides a balanced program of projects and initiatives to guide community revitalization efforts in the Borough. 

It builds on the initial plan developed in 2000 and continues many of its priorities.  However, it brings expansion of the business and employment base to the forefront of Pottstown's revitalization strategy, in the belief that it represents the "engine" for revitalization that will make possible further success in other key areas.

Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority (PDIDA)
Borough council established the Downtown Improvement District Authority (PDIDA) to help revitalize and preserve the central business district. The Authority manages and coordinates activities to promote the improvement of Downtown Pottstown.

PDIDA maintains a comprehensive listing of the businesses in the Pottstown Downtown area. This and more information about the Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority is available on the PDIDA Website.
