The Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department
offers a wide variety of programs and activities. The parks system includes the
River Front Park where you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the Schuylkill River
or Memorial Park with its many athletic fields. Memorial Park also has a memorial
to fallen war heroes, a play area for kids, and picnic areas. The Parks Department
also maintains a number of neighborhood parks that provide residents activities
close to their home.
The Community Center provides year round programs
for the residents of Pottstown. Contact the Parks and Recreations Department
for more information on the activities at the Center. |

This course is designed to teach both fundamental and advanced
techniques of self-defense and sport judo in a safe and supportive environment.
Emphasis is placed on the safe and proper application of throwing and grappling
techniques, as well as establishing discipline and self-confidence. Advanced
students routinely participate in local tournaments. Beginners are welcome to
sign up at the start of any session. Judo is a great physical activity that any
member of the family can enjoy. The instructors are nationally certified coaches
with a combined teaching experience of over 50 years. It is also an outstanding
complimentary activity to other sports such as wrestling and jujitsu.
