The Pottstown Bark Park is a facility located within Memorial Park (100 East High St) created to allow dogs and dog-owners an opportunity to play off-leash. In order to utilize the Pottstown Bark Park, you must become a member. Members must review and sign our Bark Park Terms and Conditions, available from the Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department. Members must also provide complete information for any and all dogs using the facilities as designated on the Pottstown Bark Park Registration Form. Upon completion of these forms and the payment of an annual $15 fee, an access key will be issued.

General Bark Park Rules:

No attendant is on duty. It is understood that use of the Pottstown Bark Park is undertaken at the user’s risk. Dog owners/handlers are legally and financially responsible for their dog’s behavior at all times. The Borough of Pottstown will not be held liable for any injury or damage caused by any dog on municipal property.

As an unattended facility, it is important that all members follow the posted rules and ensure that other members do so as well. Together you can do your part to ensure the facilities are well-maintained and prevent injuries by supervising your dog closely at all times. 
  • Facilities are for dogs and members only. Do not bring any other animals into the facilities. 
  • Dogs must be legally licensed and vaccinated as indicated in the Terms and Conditions, including current rabies and distemper vaccinations. Records of current vaccination must be provided to Pottstown Parks and Recreation Dept. 
  • Dogs must display current tags. 
  • Dogs must be 4 months old or more to utilize Pottstown Bark Park. 
  • Dogs that are in heat, ill, or carrying internal or external parasites are not permitted in the Bark Park. 
  • Owners/handlers must be present with their dogs in the park and maintain visual and voice control at all times. 
  • Members are legally and financially responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and themselves. This includes removing dog waste to the appropriate containers, disposing of trash and recycling, and filling in any holes dug by dogs using the facilities. Failure to remove animal waste is punishable by a fine of up to $600 plus costs. (Section 107 Borough Code). Littering and unauthorized dumping is prohibited and punishable by a fine of up to $600 plus costs. (Section 902 & 903 Borough Code) 
  • If a dog becomes aggressive, it must be leashed and removed from the facility immediately. Dogs known to be recurrently aggressive or that have been observed exhibiting threatening behavior with any frequency may be suspended from Bark Park usage at the discretion of Pottstown Parks and Recreation Dept.
  • No food is permitted within the facilities.
  • Users must ensure that exterior and interior gates are closed and latched during and after usage.
  • An attending adult must supervise all children within the park, maintaining responsibility for their safety. Do not bring children under the age of 5 into the facilities. 
  • Dogs must be leashed prior to entering and exiting facilities. Owners/handlers must have a leash in hand at all times while in the park.
  • No more than three dogs per owner/handler are permitted in the park at one time. 
  • Attending owners/handlers must be a responsible adult, 18 years of age or older. 
  • Pronged and/or spiked collars are not permitted within the facilities.
  • The Pottstown Bark Park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Occasionally seasonal maintenance and organized events scheduled in Memorial Park may necessitate the temporary closure of the facilities. Notice will be made in advance of these closures to the email address provided at the time of registration.
  • Failure to follow these rules and all terms and conditions agreed to at the time of registration may result it membership suspension or termination at the discretion of Pottstown Parks and Recreation Dept.

If you observe violations of these rules or any rules contained in the Terms and Conditions, please report them to Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department. If possible note member names and/or dog breeds.
